Catherine Hayden
Medical Consultant
Dr Hayden joined Hull & East Riding Fertility in May 2025 after 15 years as a consultant for the NHS and private fertility services in Leeds. She is a graduate of the University of Leeds and gained her Doctorate research thesis (2000) examining clinical and basic science aspects of polycystic ovary syndrome.
She has developed a particular interest in fertility preservation for medical reasons, having jointly run a clinic for survivors of childhood cancer with paediatric oncology colleagues in Leeds. She is experienced in all aspects of assisted conception required for a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan.
She is a skilled communicator and feels it is important for individuals and couples to play an active role in their fertility journey to optimise the chance of a successful outcome. This means understanding the impact of improving modifiable health / risk factors and making appropriate changes. She advocates a wholistic approach and shared decision-making.
Dr Hayden is the mother of two teenage boys and wife to a consultant surgeon. She is an amateur interior designer with a passion for bold statements in colour and texture. She has recently turned her attention to exterior design with some landscaping and gardening projects, and a steep horticultural learning curve! She keeps fit and flexible with various regular physical activities including running, resistance training and reformer Pilates.
