Hull and East Riding Fertility were proud to support the LGBTQ+ community at Pride 2023. As East Yorkshire’s only registered clinic providing specialist infertility investigations and treatment, we have many years of expertise in helping same-sex couples and singles throughout the region, with their fertility journey. We understand that every person is unique, and we treat everyone with the care, compassion and understanding they deserve.

Pride 2023, on Saturday 29th July, was a colourful statement supporting the LGBTQ+ community. People attended in their thousands to parade, enjoy and voice their support. Hull and East Riding Fertility were based within the Health and Wellbeing tent opposite Zebedee’s Yard, alongside other specialisms within the Hull University Teaching Hospital Trust.

It was a privilege for our team to meet so many people at varying stages of their fertility journey. We talked to people who hadn’t yet considered their future fertility, but through talking to our staff they left feeling better informed about their options for the future. Whether this is through fertility preservation of eggs, sperm or embryos or having initial investigations performed. Those people who are transgender or non-binary particularly benefit from considering their fertility at an earlier stage and our Clinic has years of experience discussing fertility preservation Fertility Preservation – Hull & East Riding Fertility (hulleastridingfertility.co.uk)

Same-sex couples were a big feature at our stand on Saturday and we had many enquiries about accessing treatment as a same-sex female or same-sex male couple. Our Clinic has information booklets which are tailored to offer advice dependent on individual circumstances. For anyone who attended Pride on Saturday and feel like they would benefit from this information, we would encourage you to get in touch via email or phone.

One aim of attending Pride 2023 was to raise awareness of the need for more sperm and egg donors. As it is well documented there is a national shortage of sperm and egg donors, and Hull and East Riding are no exception. As a Clinic, we pride ourselves on being able to provide our own donor sperm bank, giving choice, flexibility and ease to our patients. But to continue to offer this service and meet the demands for donor eggs, we continue to need more sperm and egg donors. We hope that by distributing this information that we have people come forward to perform this wonderful gift. For more information please give us a call, send an email or visit our website Egg Donation: Become An Egg Donor | Hull & East Riding Fertility (hulleastridingfertility.co.uk)

We were honoured to meet so many children born through treatment at our Clinic – from currently pregnant to nearly adult, it was wonderful to meet you all and we really appreciate you coming to say hello. Feedback is always welcomed by our Clinic, and it was so lovely to receive such glowing reviews.
