Martin Debono

Martin qualified as a medical doctor from Leeds University in 1984. He worked in Leeds and Sheffield both clinically and academically, rapidly developing an interest in Infertility and Reproductive Medicine.

Martin was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist to Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust in 1995, a post he held for 26 years. During that time, he established a local fertility unit, Yorkshire Fertility, providing infertility services, initially to couples in Calderdale and Huddersfield. The service grew rapidly to become the largest satellite IVF unit in the UK, serving Calderdale, Huddersfield, Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury, and Pontefract.

Martin also worked at Reproductive Health Group in Warrington, providing his experience in Infertility and IVF to that organisation. He recently joined Hull & East Riding Fertility and brings with him a wealth of clinical experience to complement the already existing strong team.

Martin is hoping to expand services across Yorkshire through Hull & East Riding Fertility, whilst developing new and emerging technologies in fertility and IVF.
