Coronavirus and IVF treatment – 13th May 2020

Covid 19 – Update 13th May 2020

We are pleased to announce that we have today had approval from the HFEA (our regulator), to reopen the Hull IVF Unit.  This is following a significant number of measures and plans being put in place to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

The team at the Hull IVF Unit are delighted to be in a position to restart treatment cycles in a phased and considered manner.

Our priority is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.  We understand that there will be a lot of questions, from both new and existing patients, about the measures we have put in place and how we plan to restart treatments.  This page outlines the changes we have made and the steps we are taking, in a phased approach, to welcome patients back to the Unit.

Existing Patients:

We have continued to keep in touch with existing patients.  Our clinical team are now in the process of reviewing medical notes and contacting patients who had their treatment postponed due to the Covid-19 emergency.

There is a need to review each patient on an individual basis to understand their medical history and what is needed to restart treatment.  We will be reopening the clinic on a phased basis, to ensure a minimum number of patients are in the Unit at any one time, and we are able to maintain all social distancing obligations.  If you have had your treatment cancelled due to Covid-19 we will be in touch over the coming days and weeks.

New Patients:

To maintain the safety of all patients and staff, all consultations are currently being carried out on the telephone and by video links.

If you would like to book a new private consultation with one of our specialist fertility consultants, please email  Alternatively, please use the contact us form.

One of our dedicated support team will contact you shortly to discuss the most appropriate appointment for you.

Changes we have made:

All the changes needed to continue to give patients the best possible care and support during these difficult circumstances are in place.  Below are a few of the changes we have made:

We have processes in place to ensure that consent forms are completed safely and thoroughly.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you updated of any changes.  If you would like any further information or support, please contact us, we are here to help you.
